Psalms

Day 40

Psalms

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.  He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.  You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.  Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 24
Who is he, this King of glory?  The Lord Almighty --- he is the King of glory.

Psalm 25
Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Psalm 27
The Lord is my light and my salvation -- whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life -- of whom shall I be afraid?  When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.  Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.

Teach me your way, O Lord; lead me in a straight path....

I am still confident of this;  I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 28
Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy.  The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.  My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Psalm 29
The voice of the Lord is over the waters ---
The voice of the Lord is powerful ---
The voice of the Lord is majestic ---
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars ---
The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning ---
The voice of the Lord shakes the desert ---
The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare ---

Psalm 30
O Lord my God, I called to you for help and you healed me.

....weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent.  O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.

Psalm 31
Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.  Free me from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge.  Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O Lord, the God of truth.

Psalm 33
We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.  In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.  May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

Psalm 34
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

The Lord redeems his servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.

Psalm 36
Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.  Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep.

Psalm 37
Trust in the Lord and do good ---
Delight yourself in the Lord ---
Commit your way to the Lord ---
Be still before the Lord ---
Wait patiently for him ---
Do not fret ---
Refrain from anger ---
Turn from wrath ---
Turn from evil ---
Do good ---
Wait for the Lord ---
Keep his way ---
Consider the blameless ---
Observe the upright ---
Take refuge in him ---

Psalm 40
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.  He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.  He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.

Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done.  The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.

Psalm 44
You are my King and my God -- Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes.  I do not trust in my bow, my sword dos not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame.  In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.
